Home Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a new technology you can use to have information sent to you, rather than having to go look for it. Many Web sites, including ADN, offer RSS. RSS feeds enable you to get update notifications delivered directly to your desktop through the news aggregator software program of your choice. For example, by subscribing to ADN's RSS feeds, new items of interest posted on our Web site will be automatically sent to you. RSS offers a convenience because you can subscribe to feeds from several Internet sites and automatically pull together headlines from all the sources into one list. This lets you quickly browse the list of new content without visiting each site.

Here are the steps:

  1. Choose a reader to organize and read your content (or use your preferred reader). Recommended readers:
  2. After installing your RSS reader, click the RSS link on any page where a feed is provided. On IE 7, the RSS button at the top right corner will light up, indicating that the current page has an RSS feed which you can subscribe to. If you are on the latest version of Firefox, the RSS indicator button will light up at the bottom right corner of your browser.
  3. Follow the prompts offered by your RSS reader or browser to complete the subscription.
  4. Use your RSS reader or browser to read news when it arrives and click headline links to get the full Web page.
